Pillars of eternity caed nua lord sidroc1/29/2024 ![]() To rest without granting a bonus, Hardtack or Water may be used. ![]() Resting is the only way to "consume" food items, and grant whatever bonuses they give. At least one character must be assigned a food or drink item to rest, and regardless of how many and which characters have food assigned, all characters will undergo a "rest" (but only those with food assigned will have injuries removed). Party members can be given food individually by assigning an item to them in the resting interface. Resting outdoors requires the use of any food or drink item. Press the "Rest or Wait" button in the toolbar to display the resting interface. You can unlock the ability to choose a Camping Bonus when resting in the wild, granting the character your choice of one of six possible bonuses based on their Survival level. The supplies represent a party count, like wealth, and are represented by a number in the inventory and on the rest button in the main GUI. The supplies are a single item type and can be purchased from vendors (also rarely can be found in the world). The party is limited to carry a maximum amount of Camping Supplies based on the current difficulty setting (currently ranging from 6 to 2). Each time the party rests in the middle of nowhere, they consume 1 unit of Camping Supplies. Waiting is not available in Pillars of Eternity, though you may instead pass the time by moving between locations.ĭuring your adventures you can choose to rest in outside by using your Camping Supplies to build your own campsite. Waiting may be necessary to progress certain quests with time, to access locations only open at certain times of the day, or to talk to characters who aren't available day and night. Similar to resting, in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire you may also choose to Wait, which is a way to advance time without resting. You can choose to rest outdoors or at inns, which are found in certain urban locations or at Brighthollow, your stronghold manor, both of which offer long-term bonuses. The party can only rest at safe locations, and not during combat. Resting will restore characters to full Health and Endurance, remove Maimed, and other long-term afflictions (including injuries and fatigue), remove until-rest bonuses, and restore all per-rest abilities, spells, talents and item charges and is the only way to do so. All's I know is, I have to get into Caed Nua to progress the game's story, and there seems to be no means of doing so.Campsite example from an early screenshot The journal entries are all ambiguous and unhelpful, so I can't tell if I've missed a step somewhere or if I've truly broken the game somehow. Talked to Kolsc again, still no dialog apart from saying he can't talk to me. But I can find no one at Raedrick's Keep who'll give me this option. Looking around online, it seems that someone back at Raedrick's Keep was supposed to give me Caed Nua as my stronghold I'm assuming after that happens I'm able to actually enter the place. Except there doesn't seem to be a way to get to the area South of Caed Nua yet there's a bridge out. so maybe I have to enter from the South, go around the map and follow the road leading North towards Caed Nua. There's clearly a door there just two steps South of where I found Kana earlier, but it's not clickable and an hour of scouring around the West and Northwest areas (the only ones I can reach) turn up no other means of entry. But when I get there (entering the Caed Nua area from the West), there is no way to actually ENTER the place. So the next big to-do on my list is to go back to Caed Nua and talk to this Maerwald guy everyone's on about. My journal shows the "Lord of a Barren Land" quest to be completed. ![]() I searched Raedrick's Keep up and down, every level, and no one there would talk to me, including Kolsc in the throne room (he just tells me "Forgive me friend, there is much to do," doesn't even enter the conversation menu). I've just defeated Raedrick and helped his cousin take the throne, per the "Lord of a Barren Land" quest (and had killed Osrya and saved Giacco at Nedmar's behedst). But I don't seem to be able to claim my stronghold and progress the story. I'm honestly not sure if I've found an actual bug or just an example of a poorly-placed NPC. I hope this is the right place to post this. ![]()
